Fat Joe released the video for "Haha (Slow Down)" featuring Young Jeezy today. The songs definitely a banger and I'm sure we'll be rockin in all clubs near you in due time. The single will be on Joey Crack's upcoming album The Darkside. Go ahead...it's on to bob ya head. lol
Jus my take on hip hop. It's my opinion, but we all have opinions so give yours too and I'll share some of em'. Also gonna try to expose some up and coming artist and there music so feel free to send me your stuff too.

Orchestra Plays J Dilla
Producer J Dilla passed away in 2006 from complications with Lupus yet his hip hop and R&B contributions will live on forever. Of course others have paid tribute to Dilla and have drawn inspiration from his work. One person who payed his homage to J Dilla took his inspiration to the orchestra. Miguel Atwood-Ferguson adapted some of Dilla's productions to orchestra and performed them in February of 2009 with the Suite For Ma Dukes Orchestra in Los Angeles. The pieces were played as part of the "Timeless" concert series which also paid tribute to 1960’s Los Angeles based producer David Axelrod (whose has been sampled by artist such as DJ Shadow & Lil’ Wayne) and Brazilian musician Arthur Verocai (whose work's been sampled by Little Brother and Ludacris to name just two). The performance was filmed and will be released on DVD on June 6th. Check out there performance of "Untitled/Fantastic" from Slum Village.
Check the actual track to compare.

Try These Out
First video to try out comes from Boaz with the track "Gangsters Make The World Go Round" featuring S. Money. I'm not gonna lie, I argued with myself bout postin this one but after thinkin bout it I felt it deserved an honorable mention. It's pretty solid so...
The next video to try out comes from Curt@!n$ and his cut "Letter To The People Pt. 1". I'll admit he def got a good amount of his thoughts and hunger out in this letter, so check both of these out & let me kno wat you think.

"All Things Go"
So I ran across this video from G.o.D. Jewels for a track titled "All Things Go". The videos tight, def illustrates the story of the song, & the songs solid itself so u can't go wrong there. If nuthin else I feel like this should be a Chi-town anthem. Guess we'll keep seein' what the wind blows in.
Lupe's "Beaming"
Lupe Fiasco jus released his video for the single "I'm Beaming" of his upcoming Lasers project. The video's special effects are hot and even the cardboard cut out effects are pretty good. Of course you can neva really go wrong wit kids. Although Lupe does seem kinda uncomfortable around them at sum points. Iono though, I'm jus glad this won't be his last album like he originally had planned. Check out "I'm Beaming".
Bangin' In My System
So jus as a blogger I thought I'd do my part in makin sum suggestions of music you might wanna take a listen to. First off, I'll say that B.o.B.'s debut album The Adventures of Bobby Rae is solid. Def sumthin you might wanna cop.
However for the free! You might wanna download Pac Div's Don't Mention It Mixtape. Pac Div made some nation wide noise with the track "Whiplash" which you can see the video for below. To download the mixtape just click on the Don't Mention It album cover.
Also you might wanna check out Knotta's album Envy. Knotta's unsigned but his lyrics say a lot of things I feel a lot of hip hop heads will not only hear but feel. Click the artwork for the download link.

Ladies Make The Bedrock Too
So Rasheeda got a team of ladies (Toya, Diamond, Lola Monroe, & Kandi) and they put a "ladies touch" on the track "Bedrock". The video's kinda funny & sexy all at that same time. I didn't even kno Toya rapped. Wonder if her and Wayne eva use to battle for fun? Anyway check out the video below. The track's on Rasheeda's Boss Bitch Music Mixtape.
While We're on The Game
The Game also released his video for "400 Bars" which is off his The Red Room Mixtape which is hosted by DJ Skee. The first video is sum behind the scenes shots and the second is the actual video. If your gonna watch the video, I advise you to have some time on your hands cause the video is almost 20 minutes long. I mean it's 400 bars!
The Game Makes You "Shake"
The Game released the video for his single "Shake" off his upcoming The R.E.D. Album which is scheduled to drop June 29th. The track's produced by Cool & Dre and the video features Stacy Dash who still looks great and is makin a lot of noise herself rite now. Fellas, calm down though. She doesn't do any shakin in the video. lol Anyway check out the video below.
Bet On B.o.B.
B.o.B. recently released the video for the single "Bet I" featuring T.I. & Playboy Tre. The video's pretty dope and I'm pretty sure the song will make a lil' noise on the charts itself too also. B.o.B.'s debut album The Adventures of Bobby Rae is out now and I'm workin on my first listen through it now. So far...So Good!

Back Like an Uncaged Animal
T.I. recently released his video for the single "I'm Back" which has already created major buzz. The single will be on the album King Uncaged which is due to drop August 17th. From seein a few interviews with producers like The Dream, people are sayin tha Tip's on a whole new level of focus for this album. Well as he says, "He's neva let me down" so far, so I'm expectin anutha great album from the king of the south. Check out "I'm Back".
Tyga & Chris on "G Shit"
So Tyga released another video with Chris Brown for his upcoming mixtape and this track is entitled "G Shit". Pretty solid track and Chris is still rappin, which makes me wonder if he's gonna continue this onto his own next project. Guess only time will tell and it'll be interesting to see.
Honorable Mention
Today I give R.A. The Rugged Man an honorable mention for his single "Uncommon Valor". The song's was made to represent those who may have suffered from agent orange during the Vietnam war. The video itself says a lot and is a great visual representation of the story told in the song. Given it's content (song & video), it gets my honorable mention.
Generals In The Game
Nas & Damian Marley recently released the the video for the single "As We Enter" off their Distant Relatives album and I gotta say I haven't heard the tag team (back & forth) rap scheme work so well in so long. It's pretty refreshing. Given these guys credentials though I guess I shouldn't be too shocked to be so pleased. Anyway check out the track for yourself.
Here's Actual Proof
9th Wonder has started a music click called The Academy and they recently released a video for the group Actual Proof for the track "Genius". The group seems....pretty solid and of course 9th still has his touch on this beat for the track. Pretty fitting track and group considering 9th is using a lot of his time as a professor at Duke right now. Check it out and let me kno what you think.

Knotta is Tuff!
A while back I introduced some of the world to Knotta. Well he's back and tuffer than eva with his new single "Tuffer Than" featuring NC's own Self Explanatory. OPEN YOUR EARS PEOPLE!

Female MC Movement
So WSHH posted a video for "Female Talent of the Week" and it comes from Audra The Rapper. If you've kept up, you know I'm not a fan of Nicki Minaj so I put up almost any other female rappers that come up. So with that said, check out Audra The Rapper's "Beamer, Benz, or Bentley Freestyle".
Skyzoo's Interpretation
So I ran across this video from Skyzoo for his track "My Interpretation". I think he's from Baltimore, MD since it says it at the beginning of the video but the track is pretty solid itself. If you want more Skyzoo his album called The Salvation is out now. Check out his "Interpretation".
More Hip Hop Sons
The group Square Off just released a video for their "Turnt Up Freestyle" off the mixtape called The Last of a Dying Breed. The two members who form the group happen to be the sons of Hip Hop Legend Doug E. Fresh. Not gonna say this particular track impressed me, but iono what else they might have. What's your opinion?
Chris Brown's Comeback
Chris Brown recently released a video for a track called "Holla At Me" featuring Tyga. Chris is coming a little different this time though, cause...well...he's rappin. I guess this has come with the success and feedback from his mixtape with DJ Drama called In My Zone which was released in I believe February. I'll admit, I liked the mixtape and I've heard from a few it was betta than his album. I neva heard the album, so iono but on the mixtape Chris does a lil' more "rappin" and even in this track manages to make a pretty nice and fun track. I can see this gettin played in the club.
More Under The Radar Music
Ran across this video by the group Tanya Morgan for the single "Bang + Boogie". It's a pretty fun song so I figured I'd post it and see how the rest of the world might like it. The songs off their Brooklynati album which is out now if you want more of them. Check it out.

More Of NC on the Grind
So on this post I've got two videos to post the first video isn't so much about the song as it is the director. His name is Messaih Amaram. He's currently workin outta Winston Salem, NC and he directed the video for Jay Slim's "Oh So Yes" featuring Brad Oblivion. The video's got a down home, old school feel to it and is shot in black and white. I think it's pretty well put together but I'm sure he'd like to hear from you all as well, so def give him your comments.
The second video comes from Spectac & Amiri for their single "As If". I'm always browsing music from artist on websites just to see what's out there, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw this video which has a counselor from my old high school as the main artist! He's always rapped even back then and was always pretty good lyrically to me. Happy to see he's still goin although we've all aged a lil'. None the less I had to share it so check it out below also.

Little Brother's Farewell?
Little Brother released the video for the single "Curtain Call" today. The video plays on the title of the track as the group and the HOJ crew put on a production (stage play) for a crowd. You can tell from the crows reactions the ups & downs of the story, which is the story of LB. At the end of the video, the group walks in their own separate directions which symbolizes the split of the group with this being their last album and the curtain closes. Of course this all fits into the title and story of the single, but it also makes me wonder if there won't be another released single of video for any other track off the Curtain Call album. Guess only time will tell. Gob Bless Little Brother. Enjoy the video.

J. Cole's Rise
An unofficial video for J. Cole's track "I Get Up' has been released and is making it's way around the net. The video seems to chronicle Mr. Cole's rise as he does different shows on the road, some of the fun they have travelin, and what looks like a couple scenes from a video he may have tried to shoot on his rise to being signed. I won't go into his whole story cause he gives the short version in the video (so I'll let u watch). The single itself is powerful in the message it brings and story it tells. It's my favorite single of his mixtape The Warm Up. Give it a listen and pay attention to the lyrics. Again (I love sayin this), NORTH CAROLINA STAND UP!
Little Brother's Curtain Call
Little Brother released the trailer for their last album Curtain Call which drops tomorrow. I for one am very sad to see the group go, but I wish them the best in the new projects they start. I'm sure Phonte will still be doin Foreign Exchange projects and Pooh will continue in his solo endeavors. There will neva be anutha group like LB and I hope they pave the way for anutha NC group in the future. I'll stop ramblin, but I love these guys and their music. North Carolina Stand Up!

Gotta Be "Fly"
So I ran across this video from an artist by the name of Beedie for his single "Fly" featuring Ghostly. The single rides pretty smoothly and is sumthin I would bump, so I figured I'd share. Lyrically both artist don't say anything crazy impressive but they do build a pretty good picture for the track I'll say. I say check it out for yourself.

"A Chip Off The Old Cube"
So WSHH put up a video of Ice Cube "unleashing" his son to the public and as his introduction to the rap game. His son goes by the name of OMG. The name seems pretty corny but I guess it works for closin out your raps and "makin a statement." Or you could even call it a double statement. Anyway, not to put down his rap "skillz," he's actually alrite. Definitely a chip off the cube if I say so myself. Check em out.

"15 Mics" Or Should I Say Mike's
So glance WWHH today I ran across this video from Verbal Phantom called "15 Mics". I've neva heard of the guy, but just the concept of this song got me a lil' interested. Apparently this song is off his 4th solo album entitled The Owl Grenade Project. Check it out and see if you like the concept of "15 Mics" too.
In The Case of Self Explanatory v. Hip Hop
Self Explanatory is still hard at work, Music, Money, Weed Vol. 2 is being prepared to job but in the mean time, he sent me over a track (well freestyle) to bless y'all with. This freestyle's over the Jay Electronica "Exhibit C" track so open your ears people! Click on the title if you want to download the track.

That Old Skool Flava
Skillz and Boogie recently released a video for the track "Wave Your Hands". The song has that classic old skool hip hop feel to it and makes me wish I was a breaker. Def a good song for the summer although I'm sure I'll prob neva hear it on the radio, but I'm no fortune teller. Check it out for yourself and don't be afraid to "wave your hands to the music".
Snoop Can't 4get "That Tree"
Snoop Dogg recently released the video for "That Tree" featuring Kid Cudi. The video is rightfully, a tribute to Cheech & Chong in a felt board story kind of way. The video looks like it was fun making and the song's just as fun. See the video below.
Going, Going, "Gone"
So I ran across this video by Donnis that's entitled "Gone". I neva heard of him but the tracks aight, sumthin I could def see myself rockin to in the club or during pregame. (ya kno! lol) Anyway, just figured I'd share it with you all and see how y'all felt about it. The video has cameo's of I think Just Blaze & Estelle so I figure he's makin a lil noise, or so it seems. Check it out and leave comments.
Meet Likwuid
So I got an email about a female MC who hails from Columbia, SC and now comes to us out of Harlem, NY. She goes by the name of Likwuid. Well, I'll be honest. I ride with any female MC who acts like she's got more since than the Minaj girl. Here's some background straight from the email:
"While there is one particular female garnishing all of the headlines, there are still a few multi-talented upstart female emcees that are beginning to make a mark in the industry and doing it the old-fashioned way—making dope music.
One such female emcee, Likwuid, (she is included in Starr Rhett’s “10 Female Rappers Who Aren’t Nicki Minaj” breakdown on Black Voices: http://www.thebvx.com/2010/04/08/10-female-rappers-who-arent-nicki-minaj/) has made a commitment to use her gift of song and supreme lyricism, to change the negative portrayal of women in the entertainment industry. Now residing in Harlem, but born and raised in the suburbs of Columbia, South Carolina, Likwuid has always been a member of positive change in her community.
Upon moving to New York City, Likwuid immediately immersed herself into NYC’s independent music hip hop scene. She holds the distinction of becoming the 2nd woman to win NYC’s legendary EOW Emcee Challenge, and her notoriety as a Jump-Off TV Battle Winner propelled her career to the next level in the underground NYC hip-hop circuit, then to nationwide buzz, then to international stages and recently she linked up with Ciph Diggy and Homeboy Sandman for the now well-circulated “I Was There” (http://nahright.com/news/2010/03/25/ciph-diggy-feat-homeboy-sandman-likwuid-i-was-there/).
Likwuid’s debut LP, Gummie Bears and Champagne, will be released on June 26th, 2010 and included is a link to Likwuid’s “Go L” (What Recession) which is produced by 2 Hungry Bros http://usershare.net/j9z0bwy4j2ev
Likwuid will be throwing a release day party for Gummi Bears and Champagne on June 26th at Wealthy Hostage in Brooklyn."
Well there u have it. Check out her track "Go L (What Recession)" below and if u feelin it. SUPPORT HER!

S.pittin' O.ut the B.lue
Charles Hamilton made an appearance last nite at S.O.B.'s and did a freestyle over Jay Electronica's "Exhibit C" instrumental and you could say he addressed a little of where he's been mentally during his hiatus. The last time I heard anything or saw any press on Charles, he wanted to be considered and judged as a female MC. Well needless to say that didn't happen. He had once been signed but supposedly dropped due to his beef with Soljah Boy. Well Charles has been seen with B.o.B. quite frequently as of late and opened up for him and S.O.B.'s last nite and seems to be gettin back on his game.

"Over" With Videos
Drake recently released his video for the single "Over" and my initial reaction is.....it's anutha typical non-impressive Drake video. I recently viewed an interview of Drake with MTV where he mentions the meaning of the video. In a synopsis he basically says that the video is kinda like his struggle between remaining who he is and continuing to create the music that's got him here and falling into the hype of the fast life and the trend in the industry of doin what's hot at the moment. He claims that his decision is kinda clear at the end of the video. Well, honestly I don't know the skyline that appears at the end of the video but I'm gonna assume it's Toronto, so I guess that's suppose to be the "answer". I think the song itself is Drake doing what's hot and the moment but it's what I expected once he signed with Young Money. Again I'm personally not impressed but that's just my opinion. Mayb I just don't completely understand the art of the video, either way check it out for yourself.
10 Minute Live Freestlye
Lupe recently did a 10 minute freestyle at one of his shows in New York and basically got some stuff off his chest. Check it out.

Trae is "Inkredible"
"Trae is a house hold name in most if not all of Texas. For the rest of the world.....not so much, but I believe he's been slowly creepin up. He recently released his video for "Inkredible" which features Lil' Wayne & Rick Ross. If you heard the beat before it's because I posted a track from Self Explanatory which uses the same beat. I've always been a fan of Trae since I've heard him and he def stays tru to his form in this song. The beat is crazy/spectacular/dumb w/e you wanna call it to me. With this beat I expect harder punch lines from Wayne honestly, but he's solid and Rick Ross is......well....Rick Ross. Anyway, they say people don't listen to anything but beats anyway right. Well, if that's tru then prepare for this song to make it out of just TX and start hittin airways nation wide. Guess we'll see. Check the video below.
The Roots & "Tom's Dinner"
The Roots recently did a performance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon with Suzanne Vega and brought back their version of a 90's classic. The name of the song is "Tom's Dinner" by Miss Vega herself and it was somewhat of a hit. This isn't typical of what I post on the blog but since The Roots performed it, I figured I'd give it a pass. Plus the song brings back so many memories. You probably don't know the song by name, but just listen and I bet you'll remember too.

Cypress Hill's Culture
Cypress Hill recently released a video for the single "Amanda Latina" featuring Pitbull and the video brings you into the Hispanic culture, as well as the song. Cypress Hill are legends in hip hop already and will be dropping a new album on 4/20 entitled Rise Up. Much respect & much luv to Cypress Hill. Check the video below.
Rhymefest Writes A Letter
Rhymefest recently released a song called "Letter" and enlisted the help of John Mayor for the hook. The song definitely feels like a heartfelt message to a friend and the video is simple but creative in itself. Definitely a track I'm feeling, it can be found on Rhymefest's Dangerous: 5-18 mixtape.

No More Childish Games
Consequence has dropped his first video for his Movies On Demand mixtape. The single in the video is the track "Childish Games" and he gets a little help from Asher Roth on the track. I happen to like what the songs talking bout so check it out for yourself.
Dr. Dre's "Under Pressure"
This picture put out a big buzz in the hip hop world a few days ago to see Dr. Dre and Jay-Z in the studio together. Everybody wondered if Jay was going back to work already, if Dre was mayb FINALLY ready to get ready to release the Detox album, or mayb this was just a friendly get together. Well, Jimmy Iovine answered that question for us when he announced that Dr. Dre has a new single called "Under Pressure" featuring Jay-Z. Of course the single hasn't been released yet and there's now crazy anticipation to see what the two legends came up with together. If I take my guess, it'll be the first single of what I'm thinking will be the Detox album which has supposedly been in the makings for what seems like the last 9 years from Dr. Dre. Will this finally be it? Time will tell. I can't wait for the single to drop though. Check out Jimmy & Dre below at the Red Soxs opener where they pub the Beats by Dre headphones and mention the new single. I'll wait for a single to drop before I say "welcome back Dre."
